Another grab bag of odd stuff. Starting off with a few stories from CNN, which seemed to have a lot of news that grabbed my attention!
CNN is the Crazy Nut Network
Thanks to Joe D.for the heads up on these stories.
- Stop! Are those live fish under your skirt?: Uh, no, she’s just happy to see me! I bet she smelt funny as she floundered about with all those fish.
- Man’s leg lands in yard: Give that man a hand! Hey, I bet he’s got a leg up on the competition now! Okay, no more puns.
- Suspect in killings had chain saw at U.S. border: This guy looks like a refugee from an 80s British hair band.
Science and Technology
- Japan Displays Prototype Robot Suit: I think I’ll wait for the Jet Jaguar edition, controllable by bizarre hand gestures.
- Scientists resolve dinosaur sex riddle in part: I guess I missed that there was a dinosaur sex riddle.
- Chilli bombs to combat elephants: Mmmmm. Red Chili Bombs. Wonder if I could get some of those: sounds like a great way to liven up some cooking.
- Sponging dolphins learn from mum: I just thought this article’s headline was very funny. Interesting story, too. Reminds me of a quote from the Hitchhiker’s Guide: “On the planet earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—while all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.”
Television
- Lost Explained!: The Lost as an Infocom game. Pretty damn accurate, too.
