I’ve used Macs in the past (pre-OS X) and have not liked them that much. However, my good friend/colleague Joe visits my office nearly every week with his Powerbook, so I’m taking the plunge. My Mac Mini shipped today and should be arriving tomorrow, I hope.
Planning on using the Mac Mini mostly as a server and way to test web pages.
My house is pretty nutty with the hardware these days: my spousal unit has a couple of desktops and a laptop at her disposal, and I’ve got a desktop, server, and laptop. Probably could create a few more out of the parts we’ve got, but the electic bill is already high.
But I’m hoping the Mac Mini can offer some UNIX-y fun above and beyond my Linux box. I haven’t had a BSD UNIX variant for many many years, but to me, toss NetHack on it and I’m good to go.
